Park Playhouse and Performing Arts Centre
Located on the corner of King Street East and McGill Street, in historic Downtown Cobourg, Ontario.
The 750 seat Park Movie Theatre opened its doors in 1948. The first movie ever shown was " Red River" starring John Wayne and Montomery Cliff. The movie theatre closed in the 1980's, as most theatres began following the multi-plex format.
Renovated and operated as a night club up until a few years ago, the theatre was then purchased by its current owner.
Recently, the space was renovated in order to act as a 400 seat entertainment venue ... Park Playhouse & Performing Arts Center.

Herongate Barn Theatre
The century old Herongate Barn Theatre began as a dairy farm, and it housed animals typical to this kind of farm until the 1970's when it ceased to be economical. It served as a location for auctions, barn dances, and hayrides until 1975 when it was converted by the Ward family for use as a theatre. It is now a truly unique dinner theatre experience.
Where else can you dine in a bull pen or manger, and sit on a theatre seat that originally came from the historic old Victory Burlesque Theatre in Toronto?

Oshawa Little Theatre
Oshawa Little Theatre owes its existence to a wonderful lady named Verna Conant. Verna was the wife of lawyer Gordon Conant, the Mayor of Oshawa in 1916/17. Conant later became Attorney General in Mitchell Hepburn’s provincial Liberal government. Hepburn resigned in 1942 following a feud with the then Prime Minister, William Lyon McKenzie King and named Conant, despite party objections, as his successor. As a result, Conant became the unelected Premier of Ontario in 1942 & 1943. Mrs. Conant was very involved with many initiatives in the Oshawa community and was responsible for founding a number of organizations that are still active today, not the least of which is Oshawa Little Theatre.

The Borelians
On stage since 1971, the Borelians Community Theatre was founded by a group of teachers with a commitment to staging quality amateur theatre by presenting Canadian theatre work and contemporary classics. The name Borelians derives from the village of Borelia, now a part of Port Perry. The Borelians’ first play, You Can’t Take it With You by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman, was performed at the Port Perry High School in May of 1971. Today, the volunteer Board of the Borelians, remains committed to excellence in theatre, producing classic and contemporary works that challenge, educate and, above all, entertain their audiences.

Scarborough Players
Known officially as "Playhouse 66", Theatre Scarborough is an umbrella organization consisting of Scarborough Music Theatre, Scarborough Players, and Scarborough Theatre Guild.
Playhouse 66 was named for our previous theatre building, which was an old church at 66 Denton Avenue (near Danforth and Victoria Park) where Oakridge Community Centre now resides.
In 1982, we moved into the newly-built Scarborough Village Theatre, and have performed there ever since. In 1993 the theatre was renovated and saw significant improvements to the lobby and backstage areas. In 2007 new seating was added. Our three groups have worked together amicably for many years. We share sound and lighting equipment, and a lot of technical skills and resources. Each group chooses its season and makes its own artistic choices.
